A large public company had an electrical manufacturing division that was not synergistic with the rest of the organization. We purchased the division as an operating company and partnered with new management to supply additional work from sister companies already in our portfolio. Because of WIA’s network of industry knowledge, it is now in its fifth year of successful operation since contacting us.
A major Canadian aerospace manufacturer identified an unprofitable location in its portfolio. We purchased the bank loan and sold the business to a competitor, maintaining employees and bringing in skilled professionals to turn the business around. After studying the company’s clientele and processes, we also renegotiated contracts with existing customers. Not only has the company maintained operations; It has grown in number of employees and profits and continues to thrive four years later.
A well-known international organization with a vast portfolio needed to close down a particular division by the end of its fiscal year. Within 30 days of meeting, we bought the business and real estate, meeting the seller’s deadline with time to spare. We found a large manufacturer that purchased the entire facility, retained the existing employees and eventually doubled the workforce.
Stephan Wolf: Founder & Principal
Stephan Wolf brings decades of industrial manufacturing expertise to the table to assist companies in transition.
Steve’s career began in the metalworking machinery business in 1981. As a partner in a major machinery dealer operation for over 10 years, Steve developed knowledge and relationships that continue to grow today.
As a managing partner at Hilco Industrial for more than 18 years, Steve was instrumental in growing Hilco Industrial by recruiting the top sales, marketing, and financial people available while expanding Hilco’s global footprint, which eventually comprised over 100 seasoned professionals in 25 offices serving clients globally. Stephan had been actively involved with over 1500 projects that recovered more than $2 billion for clients.
Steve served with distinction as the President of the Machinery Dealers National Association and as a board member of The Locator, a leading publication serving the industrial marketplace. He’s a member of the Turnaround Management Association, the National Auctioneers Association, and the Industrial Auctioneers Association.
Today, Steve brings his 30+ years of experience to a new endeavor. Wolf Industrial Advisors allows Steve the opportunity to utilize his valuation expertise, professional relationships, and network of buyers and sellers for the benefit of companies in countless industries.
